Switching Headlights - Single to Dual

Post by toby42 »

Ok, so I wanted to get rid of the single headlight and go to the dual. How should I get another plug in there for the second headlight? Simply splice into the same wires for the single light or wouild that make both headlights weak? Any ideas?

Toby,
I just did this about a month ago. what I did was make up a "pigtail" which consisted of 6 wire (2 pairs of 3 wires) that plug into the harnesses original headlamp socket And the other end has 2 pairs of 3 female connectors that plug on to your new bulb set up.

be sure to get them in the right order .This arrangement allows you to revert at any time to single light should you wish to sell the bike as near stock as possible.

Del - I already traded... sorry! I just need the extra plug which,

Lafaro - Yeah, man, that'd be great! PM me your paypal addy and I'll send you some $$ over for it and shipping.

ShredEx - I'm going w/ the streetfighter look... but on the cheap, so I didn't buy new headlights, just swapped for the dual headlights that have a SF 'look.' That single woulda looked pretty danged goofy by itself! ;o)
