I've been looking at these on ebay, I'm a little worried about them because LED's need an exact voltage, and car voltage fluctuates between 12 and 14, so the LED's might burn out, but I have heard of people getting lucky and the LED's last. Anyone bought them or any other brand? Are they high and low beam?

Re: anyone tried the LED headlights?
That doesn't look too safe to me.
Go to www.superbrightleds.com and look at some of their ultra-powerful leds. If I remember right they have a few that are as big as headlight bulbs, and you could use a few resistors to limit the voltage to a safe range.

thanks bro..do you know if they are capable of high and low beam?
Re: anyone tried the LED headlights?
There really aren't that many companies or people for that matter making DOT approved LED headlights yet. As far as I've read, it's pretty much Toyota (Lexus LS600H) and GM (2010 and 2011 Escalade and CTS Premium and I think the Chevy Volt will have them too) and the output currently isn't any better nor worse than a good HID setup.

Re: anyone tried the LED headlights?
I'm just looking into this because I might have to buy different bulbs, I just ordered half of an r6 headlight assembly, it's coming with an R6 bulb, but I don't know how much amps the bulb draws and if it's too much for the wiring and switches to handle. I'll rewire if I have to, hopefully the FZR bulb fits in the housing, then I won't have to worry about anything.
Re: anyone tried the LED headlights?
I doubt the new bulb takes enough to melt anything
I ran 55/65's in my 88 1k with no melting of anything

Re: anyone tried the LED headlights?
well, the guy that had my FZR before me put a bulb in that wasn't supposed to be in there, it looked like it drew too many amps and melted the plastic harness plug. It worked for a little while after I got the bike, and I loved the color of it, but the plug melted and stuck to the pins for the bulb. So I got another plug. A bad ground can cause the same thing, but considering the bulb was aftermarket, I'm leaning more toward it not being a bad ground. Anyway, I'll keep in mind what you said about the bulb you had in yours, I'll check and see what the stock R6 bulb is and if it's more watts than that I'm not putting it in, I'll make the FZR bulb fit somehow if it doesn't slip in.
