Hayabusa shock mod

Hi,
well I have all the parts, 'busa shock, extra dog bones (stock) and the triple holed rocker casting.

Now i read you have to cut off part of the 'busa fork end & grind it, BUT for the life of me I cannot see why as it all fits together quite nicely as it is (well at least on the kitchen table it does )

what the he** am I missing (apart from the odd brain cell that is ) any one have a picture of the assembly please.
I was hoping Uncle Mike might join us as he has done this mod

It's simply too long too fit like that. If you can make it work, then you're a hero.

I got mine down to 12 1/8" hole to hole or something very close.

You will also need to cut off the area right above the top bracket on the bike where the shock mounts. I do believe the battery has a piece that fits in there. Look at the 1st photo.

I will post all of the photos I have when I did mine...

Brilliant photo's thanks I will go away and tinker for a bit before hospital tomorrow. So no FZRonline tuesday until late the wrong sister is on duty ( the wife so my usual laptop shenanigans is out

wednesday is likely to be a challenge have wedding practice to attend (another nurse taking the plunge ) and my Daughters are flower girls

Please take a look at the FZR page I did with its index and how I used my Plastex (first time) to repair my top fairing. Must admit you guys made a great suggestion with that stuff for sure (fixed the TV remote as well LoL

well it seems your tri-casting and mine look different which may be why they all fit together on the floor at least.

The weather is great which is why murphy said i could not ride today so the bike dis-assembly will have to wait a while.

Do your bits have numbers on (part / model) so i can compare? center to center on the dog bones would be good too as they look longer than in your pics

PM Replied. All I can thing of is that it is either a different year or the person changed it out before selling it to you.

Maybe some others can verify what it is from....

that last pics looks like a gsxr 600/750/100 shock link....i looks the same as my gsxr1000 one sitting in my parts box.

do the old man a favour and measure the hole centers and diameters please.

It just might explain why mine fits so nicely together as is, wether it fits on the bike properly without dropping / jacking the ride height remains to be seen.

did you see my pics of the YZF swinger and shock any thoughts as i have never seen the bike up close to inspect how it is put together

i cant view pics at work...goverment company blocks pics but i do know the gsxr link accpects all the fzr hardware. the only different is the part the bolts to the underside of the frame...the bushing is like 1/32" to wide on each side and has to be machined to grinded down.

i can get measurements later tonight but wont be able to post until tomorrow.

however it could be the link mount to the busa with fzr dog bones on it.
