Front Brakes Dragging

Post by WSM »

So I bought a '98 FZR600 with 1,400 on the odo (thats right, fourteen hundred). The thing is near mint in terms of mechanics.
I'm still waiting on paperwork to go through (trying to register it out-of-state) so I'm tinkering around with it, making sure everything is ready to go, as I'll be riding from DC to OH the week I get the tags for it.
One thing I have noticed is that the front brakes are dragging ever so lightly when I'm pushing it around the garage.
Now, I know a light drag is normal, but how do I know whether this is a bigger problem (clogged, corroded...) or if it's just that the bike hasn't been ridden for a while and needs some exercise?
I've spent most of my years under the hood of a car, and have learned to pump the caliper pistons in and out to loosen them up on an old car that has been sitting for a while. Does that sound like a good test? Push them in and out, "resetting them," and see what happens next?
BTW: all the lines, etc are in fine shape. I can't see a level (air/oil level) in the reservoir on the handle bars as it seems completely full, so that seems odd.

Any advice?

All Original, except for a custom saddlebag set up. A machine shop buddy of mine seamlessly fitted two GS bags on the rear end for last summers ride.
