Hi George. I dropped C a PM as he said he would get back to us on Monday. I didn't hear back so I thought I'd drop the question in here ! I don't think anyone as the answer. Contacted yamaha in US and got nowhere ! Bit of a dead end !

Yes metalic or pearl. I have contacted local touch specialist an they have indicated that sikkens paints are water based and no good for touch up. Can I just use the same codes/colours for touch up ? Your help is greatly appreciated. Chris

It's a pearl one. The code is "YAM 4000". And the code for red it's "YAM 3000". I don't know if they are good or not for touch up. Maybe not. The dealer must be right. It's his job and he knows better. BUT...... if you go for a touch up, i would say NO. WHY? Because your 1000 it's an old motorcycle and the colours, (even if you can't see it) have been fade out a kind of. So, if you just touch up, there will be a serious difference between the touch up and the old colour.
Why don't you go to that Sikkens dealer and find (with his samle book) the right colour? Then it 'll be no problem in difference.
