Coming along nicely for having to go to a friends shop to work on it. Can't wait to see the bike with all the fairings on it. Have you figured out a tail to use yet?
Yes, that is a Single Sided Swingarm FZR600 that I built.
Something is lurking, waiting, wanting to be built......It calls to me from the darkness....
I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel....Then I realize that it is the train coming to run my ass over....

Yea, i really don't like FZR's naked, I love the side fairings, and the single headlight.cad600 wrote:Coming along nicely for having to go to a friends shop to work on it. Can't wait to see the bike with all the fairings on it. Have you figured out a tail to use yet?
Tail wise i'm really not sure. I guess I've decided not to keep her stock tail until I get it up and running for a while. Thinking of going with the poor mans integrated tail<---anyone know how well that works for the stock tail?
I still like to think I'm gonna do the 99-02 r6 tail as much as it may be played out.... I think it's the best looking on the fzr, especially with the larger tire.

So i was gonna follow the wiki VR mod.... when i noticed how much more complicated it is than it needs to be....
here is my simple way....And i'm only posting up pictures b/c i just wrote a whole write-up for it, and then my computer crashed!!! AHHH!!! wow that really pissed me off..... anyway here is the final product, I used the STOCK mount points, so no drilling or cutting needed! Just splice the stock wires, crimp on some felmales and a 1/4" ring connector and a longer ground screw, and BOOM your done!

Cut off my sidebars on the tail and put the front sprocket on. The bolt idea is perfect to keep'r on....

Re: 91 FZR with a YZF swingarm.....sprocket on
Well, she's ridable!!! I took it around the block today and it feels SOOO nice, need to tweak the carbs a little, but who doesn't....
Yesterday we sync'd the carbs and bled the brakes.
Today we finished up the exhaust and hooked up the gas tank. I also had to boil my velocity stacks again to get them to fit over the carbs...
Now I guess it's on to cosmetics!
I'll get more pics, but these are from yesterday....

Find yourself a radial front master cylinder from an 07 R6 to better compliment those YZF calipers...you'll thank me later...otherwise good progress you are making on the bike.
