R6 header mod

Post by thatkid »

Well many have asked about it so I've decided to do something about it. I won one relatively cheap on ebay. A 2001. I'm going to attempt to fit it to my spare motor after cutting the middle connection tube and welding up the holes. Now this exhaust should fit from things I've heard. It's also the same diameter as a V&H full system or D&D or any other aftermarket header that used to be made for the FZR. The full systems run 450. I figure the breakdown of 200-250 for a slip-on leaves 200 for the header. If this mod works I'll be selling them randomly as I buy headers on ebay. The price will probably fluctuate depending on how cheap I win them but I'm happy to mod any that you folks win and send to me. This first set will be sold for 115 shipped assuming the mod works. If there are any takers...awesome. If not, I guess I'm out some cash to satisfy my curiosity.

The R6 header will basically be an aftermarket header for the FZR but at a fraction of the cost. It's .09" smaller tube than aftermarket but still runs a 4-2-1 system. The R6 header will also allow you to run just about any midpipe/slip-on on the market. Think Akrapovic/devil  oh yess!
