Aye Pimp, did the paint myself, but I've got the modding bug now and only pro paint will do!
Rear end comes apart tomorrow in readiness to fit the new shock and paint the rear of the frame. I've decided I'll be using a ducati 748 seat unit and rear light, and bugger the expense.

Oh dear, this is rather manky. That'll never do...

OK, an exploded Haynes style view. Bearings out, stick it all in the dishwasher, new bearings, paint the dogbones, some slight grindind to allow the bottom of the shock to clear the knuckle, then all back together it goes. Easy, innit?

OK, here's the shock linkage all back together. I was astonished in how good the condition of the bearings was after 50k miles and 18 years, so after a thorough clean and regrease they went back on. The dogbones and exhaust bracket have been pleasantly power coated...
