Finally Got To Ride..

Post by sweekster »

So other than the quick jaunts and shake downs I've taken my 1k on I have not really ridden since selling my 600 back in October. My father in law's friend came over to see his new car (06 Mustang GT 5 Speed) and brought his bike and while those two were out playing with the car I got to spend a few hours on it. So what is it you ask??

2007 ZX14...I put 150 miles on this puppy by the time brought it back home. it is not the first time i'd ridden this particular bike just the longest stretch of time. Very comfortable bike. A bit twitchy down low like the Z750 (that's probably a Kawi thing). Once going it easy to handle. Ungodly amounts of power though. Just hope my 1k will be as much fun.

those things are huge.
cant imagin the power it has.
do you think you would ever own one if you got the chance?
its more of a cruise bike...meant to go straight.
did you try a U-turn on two lanes on it! lol
personaly, 1K would be the highest i go...

Yep, I've done U-Turns many times on it and a few on my 1k. It's not that much wider than my 1k..and it weighs a lot less. The power comes up on you quick if you aren't careful but I've ridden this bike enough to know what to expect. And you can lean the bike just as you can any other. With high mounts or GP pipes you can drag knee on them. I could have bought one if I wanted to but I'm cheap and my 1k was available-plus I tend to prefer the older bikes.

That's Kawasaki's "Busa" equivalent, eh?

If you wanna call it that. They're more different than they are equivalent in my opinion. I've ridden a Busa before and the 14 is more comfy.
