A good question is: Are you sure the new wheel you just got is even a Yamaha? Supposedly, an older 5.5 GSXR wheel will fit right in and if that's what you have then a 180/55/17 is fine.

It is a YZF600r wheel for sure and you guys are right about the width 5.0"

BUT, i CAN run a 180 tire, and since i got one for free that is over 50% tread, I'm using it. I don't wanna go buy a 170 if I dont have to...I think PIMPMYFZR's avatar is a yzf600r rim with a 180....and that bitch looks SICK! lol.

Shred---We are painting the frame, swing, and wheel on friday or saturday, and when that has a day or so to sit, we will be swapping the motor and all the harnesses and shit.

Do you know where i can get tires mounted around us shred?

Thanks for all the help guys! :headbang:

the shop by me (R&B Motorcycles) does the tire installs for $40...then there is a guy in brooksville that does them for I think it was $25. That guy also sells used tires (front = $30 / rear = $60)

ill give them a call...

he said if you bought the tire from him, then its $30 to install each tire
if its a carry in, then its $40 each
they might go lower if you tell them exactly what you need and if its gonna be on the bike or not.

you can give them a call

like i said, call them and see, cuz its $40 because they gonna remove the rear caliper and stuff and pull of the rear wheel, then remove the old tire and install the new one, then put back on the bike and reinstall everything and balance the wheel...

it might be cheaper if its just a rim your carying in that you need a tire put onto.
they are open from like 10am - 6pm...just give them a call tomorrow
