Extra Parts on Re-Assembly

Post by ashtong63 »

I took my FZR400 apart this weekend and these were left over on the floor afterward...

Things I removed were all bodywork except tail, tank, fuel pump and filter, carbs and everything associated with that. I have pods so it's nothing from an airbox.

Anyone know what they are? My only guess is maybe they're from the rubber triangles on the middle points where the tank cover is screwed on? Mine are pretty beat up so maybe these came off.

They're rubber, not plastic. About an inch OD and 1/8" thick.

Thanks for any ideas you guys might have!

they could also be the little rubber grommets in your turn signal trim plates that your turn signal goes through....

hi.
do they look like they should be just one piece of grommet that thro wear has split into 2 pieces or may be rubber washers for the turn signals as anti-vibe mounts ?

Hey, thanks for all the replies.

Not sure, where would they come from? I took off the cross bar in front of the tank and the bracket that holds it down behind. As far as I remember neither point had rubber but maybe I'm wrong? I didn't take apart the pivot where the front bar attaches to the tank, so they're not from that.

The ID is a little chewed up, but they don't look like they were torn off anything or at one time one part...

Also, I have aftermarket signals that stayed on the fairing and don't use grommets.
