Thanks Steve.
Found out from the shop today it was infact the new 180hp 1198r that i was chasing.
I went in to shop to burn dvd today and the file size was to big and they have no edit programs in store so Ben the guy i filmed for the first few laps is bringing bigger CD in tomorrow then i can edit it down and youtube it.Im a computer turtle so i will be be cursing before it gets finished.
the Ducati was noticably quicker in straight line. When you see the shots you will see its the torque leaving the corners that got me.
I was struggling with the slow corner speed of the ducati having to brake mid corner a couple of times only to watch him wheelie away from me and destroy the next corner.i can understand when the bikes worth a years income not wanting to corner to hard but some of these guys need to enter into fast not race class on these days.
My mate was timing my laps and they were all 1.20s which is down 4secs from race pace.
I did learn lots about my bike and have finally fixed my front brake drag issues once and for all.
New peg position is great and only touched foot couple of times near the end of the day when i got tired and lazy.
The 520 conversion and my extra horses are very noticable and might help this year.
Quite a few new bikes got me on straights during the open day. Most of them were formula one factory bikes being tested for next season or last years bikes etc. Some were Bernard race team bikes and the gsxr1000 factory bikes.these had at least 50kmph on me in the straights.
It was like my fzr verses stock fzr600.LOL .None of them got me in the corners so thats promising.I got a little nervous on the straights as when you came across a slower bike you didn't want to change lines incase a fasterbike was approaching from behind at rapid knots.Race events are more my style when the bikes have closer performance and weight and everyone is on proper race lines unlike the track days.
there is a few guys who race formula one that have bought posties so they can race both classes.
im not sure how prepared there bikes will be and how fast they will be.
i have entered the postclassic pre89 senior for all races the season and have cross entered into formula one for the opening two rounds.
i have done this for these rounds as i will run during there qualifing session for practice before my own qualifing.
The first round on 16th May is in Taupo on the international circuit which i have only been on once so hope for solid start before i move onto Manfield track for the remainder of the season.
The second round is on manfield long track that is very tight on the back half with no cambers on the corners so its a tricky track.
I have again only ran on it once and the day got rained off after qualifing due to flooding. It rained(TO HARD WTF).That cost me the series last year..BUGGER.
Nice shot Steve.Well into the corner.Less distance to fall makes it safer LOL?
