Foot Brake

I am not sure what I need or what is wrong and most of my mechanic friends have told me not to even bother fixing it but I would still like to. My foot brake does not light up the brake light. The hand brake lights it up so I always make sure to use both but I would like to get it fixed. If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them. If anyone is in the NYC/NJ area and would like to take a look I would be more than happy to let you as I am not as mechanically inclined as I would like to be.

a) the switch adjusts up and down about an inch....you may need to.

b) there is a spring that goes from lever pivot straight upward TO the switch..is it still there?

c) there is a two wire elcetrical plug coming off the switch...is it hooked up?

It just got dark out so I will try to check in the morning. I will also try to take some pics of the area as I am sure you or someone else could spot the problem a lot faster than I could.

Ok I just checked with the guy who was originally doing the work on my bike last fall and he said that none of that is there. Now that I have that information what part do i need to look for online. Or should I just leave it as is since I only plan on riding it for this season and then selling it or keeping it as a back up bike.
