Gauges

Post by moxiemaniac »

So I just got the old lady firing back up again thanks to a fuel pump from Bmiller :headbang:

But, I came upon a major buzz kill when I noticed my tach and temp gauge aren't working, along with the back light so I can't see my speedo when it's dark. What do you guys make of this? All the indicator lights work, except one (my high beam light).

They don't make any cool lookin aftermarket clusters do they? Or would it be wise of me to stick with a stock replacement?

There is a sub wire harness that connects the main harness to the lights and tach harness. It sounds like you have some wires not connected there and not the gauges itself. Look for the faulty wiring at the tach wire connector which is a 9 pin connector.
Yes, that is a Single Sided Swingarm FZR600 that I built.

Something is lurking, waiting, wanting to be built......It calls to me from the darkness....

I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel....Then I realize that it is the train coming to run my ass over....

You may find that these share the same 12volt supply and fuse.I just finished rewiring a cbr and all instruments less the indicators had the same supply. The temp gauge will have three wires that are easy to reach. One will or should go live when key turned on.One will be ground and the other comes from thermostat.
