I have two YZF600 radiators just sitting in my storage space.
My initial plan (and what I might go with if the ZX7 radiator doesn't work) was to use either the stock FZR600 rad or a YZF600 rad (if I use an oil cooler) with a larger, more powerful fan like this one. I already got one on eBay last year but never took the time to mount it. If you couldn't fit it behind the radiator you could almost mount it on the front and still clear the front tire.

Why bother. Just run the YZF600r rad and fan. Run it on a switch too. Because the thermal switch sucks. Just raise the rad up high in the frame and you will clear the YZF motor fine in the FZR400 frame.
With the heat and humidity we get in Atlanta, my bike would have the fan kick on during one traffic light rotation. But sometimes it would take three light rotations to get through the intersection. I'm just trying to make it as efficient as possible before I have to kick the fan on.

Just run the fan almost all the time. Maybe you burn through a fan fast. But it doe snot effect HP at all. So meh..... run it. Infact it might help with the exhange of cool and hot air to the airbox. I was actually thinking about running a computer fan inside the frame hole of the FZR400 frame to push air in there.
It is more than that. The radiator swap for me stems from building a 660 engine. I want to make sure the thing does not overheat.
But either way, the thread was about the differences in radiator sizes from other manufactures. For example, I'm planning on using a early 90's ZX7 radiator, the_finch is using a different year ZX7 from the one I am, and spyder used a 05 ZX6 (636) radiator. We were compairing these models to the FZR and YZF ones and discussing ideas about fans to help move air. Your comment about R6 fans not fitting on a FZR radiator is correct, but spyder had stated that he added those to his ZX6 radiator not a FZR one.
