I JB welded it back on and the bike seems to be doing fine.

I may be wrong, but I think it equalizes pressure between the diaphragms and the float bowls.

That's an external passage (air balance I believe), It was hollow, right?

It should be swaged in, press fit. As long as it is sealed up without being blocked off and won't come off, you should be okay.

yes, it was hollow.
it broke off and I JB welded it back on,
So does that mean I can just get another one and it just presses right on?
Id rather do it clean like that.
does anyone have a extra one?

Assuming that you didn't get any JB weld in the pipe you should be fine.

no. if you look when your taking apart the carb you would see it has to do with the choke.

I'm with Fizz - that's the fuel feed to your starter jet. So long as the tube is sealed at both ends, you're good to go. Even if it doesn't pass any fuel, you still have the enrichener on the other 3 cyls, so at least you'll start. If it's NOT sealed, you'll be running lean on that cyl while you have the 'choke' on, plus the possibility of a fuel leak.

There aren't many 'spare' parts on these carbs; everything does something, and shedding a part usually has something in the way of consequences...
