Right then you lot, just about done. A side view...

A front side view...

T'other side...

Extreme CLOSE UP! R6 can, Foxeye pillion hangers, FXR1000 pre-EXUP torque arm...

And another gratuitous shot...

So, she's now back on the road and rideable (and was ridden today!). Just gotta paint the nose fairing and fit it, and it's finished.

Up early today and rode into town to see my main man and all round good egg, Colin. Went for a spin in his Westie, then into Newport Pagnell for a bacon roll and a coffee while we listened to the music of the engine tinkling as it cooled.

Then back home scratching the country roads, then up the legendary B526.

I think I'm going to retire the old girl this autumn and I'm on the lookout for a knacked FZR1000 or 1000EXUP to revive next winter. I'd even settle for just a frame (if it has a V5) and spend summer sourcing the bits, so if you know of one going cheap lemme know.

i really liked what you did with the bike. good job! i would have cahnged a few things like a racing stripe on the front mud guard instead of a two tone but it looks good man! your bike is kinda what i want mine to be like in the end!

Cheers Dude - it's nice words like that that make the whole project worthwhile :)

I'm in the process of painting the fairing, but the weather's turned foul again here so it's been delayed. Once that's done I'll be cleaning up the engine block and making a carbon exhaust hanger.

Righto, been fiddling again, and the final phase of project Nip & Tuck is complete. Nose fairing is now painted and on, just requiring the fitting of mirrors to finish.

Here's the fairing...

Extreme close up...

And as a final bit of fiddling I knockd up a carbon exhaust hanger bracket...

Apart from the mirrors, she's now done. I'm going to spend a few months enjoying a clean tidy bike while I stock up on a GSXR shock, R6/R1 tail, FZR-R tank, pod filters etc, for some major over-winter metamorphosis.

Looks quite tidy. I'd be afraid to ride it.

Looking real good FB, I can see a nice set of blue spots, and a R6 master cylinder complementing that sexy rear shock.

That's the plan Haunter. I was gonna just enjoy the bike for a few months before starting work, but while I'm on a roll I'm just gonna plough on and do the lot - shock, calipers, bodywork, paint...

When it's complete I'm going to treat the bodywork to a pro paintjob - I'm thinking of Ferrari red with the black and yellow prancing horse logos, over a black frame.

I could probably buy a newer bike with the money, and until recently probably would, but this bugger will be all my own work, unique, making me cry with pride, yadda yadda...I'm addicted to spanners!
