Thanks guys only 5more sleeps till track/test day.They have 4 classes.slow,medium,fast and race.Fasts a good one if they let me in it as they have all the new 1000s burning rubber in straight lines but braking half way down the straights.You need to be carefull as the lines they take are all wrong.LOL
Last time there was only a handfull of race bikes so they reduced the classes to three.
My wife has the stop watch training fine tuned as there is no transponders on track days.
Hope to run fast laps as the bike is better than last year.
Got a day to wait to see if i have secured 1070 big bore kit.Fingers crossed.

PS the van is ready.Built a spare wheel stand today.Needs painted yet and sponcers logo added at some stage before round one in 5weeks.
Good to see Butler came through the field for a great 6th place last race he entered.Top effort from starting last.
I just need me a Buttler paint job.it would be one of the top preped bike in our neck of the woods.
Post classic is only 6years old here for pre89 class.It was pre82 prior and now both.
We have 40 max qualifiers at Taupo international track and 35 at Manfield track so some entrants get moved into clubmans class for failing to qualify high enough.I spent the second half of last season qualifing on front row,first half on second row so this doesnteffect me much unless i have mechanical or dump it during qualifying.I let you know when the entrants get posted of the field sizes.
The amounts of entries increases every year as posties is the fastest growing class due to the lower costs.

Good news guys.my wife has started paying off a Hero race cam for my birthday in 11weeks approx.
i had a word to my bike shop who also sponcer me and they have reduced one down to cost price for us.
The cam is on laybye which means get it when paid for if you dont have that system there.
I have the mounts for it at home and have installed one already.
this weekend when i go to track day the bikeshops demo unit will be there as some of the shop staff use the demo cam and they are goig to let me use it for a session so i can give you guys footage.be warned my lines are nasty and i get it sideways quite often.LOL

The laybye/layaway is my wifes way of saying your not getting it early.If i did you know i would want another present(bike related of course)
I missed out on the 1070 kit cause i was at work when the auction finished.Put that on the back burner for latter.
Might consider the 1040 a bit latter as it only involves rebore not sleeves.Still thinking it over.
There seems to be bikes coming through post classic junior with FCR carbs which they shouldnt have so the rules may change soon.
The problem is the juniors(600 or less) are mostly ex formula three bikes which had no restrictions so there may be rull change.
The 41mm fcrs offer more bang per dollar so ill sit on the fence for now and see what happens.

went to track day.They let to many entries in so lots of bikes at a time.
Very happy with the bike but ditched the fork brace.
It seemed to induce vibration in brakes(front).Think that it caused problems so took it off.
Vibrations gone once removed.



got some footage coming soon from onboard hero race cam.The cam was the bike shops so they will burn copy for me and i will youtube it first.
Followed a mate arround on his xz6 then taked onto ducati 1098 until he ran wide.Should have good footage.The ducati had straight line speed but he seemed to not get hius braking points sorted so i spent time losing him on straights then catching him under brakes and through corners.he did some impressive wheelies though.Must have spent time training with our mate (no need to remind you).

If your brace was causing vibes under braking, then it was either mis-installed, the fork wasn't installed quite true (did you start tightening from the bottom, and bounce with every fastener?) or you have a bent fork tube.

Brace was home made and most likely now well enough.LOL
I have no issues without brace.
Th issue with brace is shudder on straights.
I think brace is pulling shocks together perhaps as the brakes must be causing shudder.Like wharped disc.
I have cast race discs which are thicker than stock.
There is very small tolerance on pistons in brakes with travel on the outsides while my pads are new(which they are almost new now).
The shudder was slight only on one staright and wheel was tighter than norm to turn while on jacks.
I will also check all the rivets on my discs after work today.
Problem sorted the instant clamp removed.

Nothing better at all.In fact i think the cornering was better after removal possibly due to reduced unsprung weight.
I would not recommend it as a worthwhile mod.
The other thing i noticed is the temp gauge ran hotter then went back to normal after removal.I think it was restricting air flow at the front end.Possible disturbing the smooth flow of air.I run no fan on mine so flow is important.it didnt get to hot but was up 3or 4mm higher than it did once removed.

I should have footage in next few days of one of the runs.
