help removing flywheel
I'm trying to remove my flywheel, I was able to get a bolt thats the right size to fit the threads but it wont pull the flywheel out. Is there a trick to getting it off ?
Re: help removing flywheel
Snug the puller tight, then smack the end of it with a soft-face mallet. Tighten, smack, repeat. If the rotor hasn't come off in a while, you likely have some corrosion welding the rotor to the crank, and it needs to be pried apart - NOT literally; you try anything with a bar or big screwdriver and anything accomplished will be bad.

They can be tough - real tough. Dead blow - soft taps around the outside while using the puller.

Re: help removing flywheel
I just did this and Wow what a PITA!!!!!!!!
Luckly, i was replacing my flywheel with a new one. So after I managed to strip the threads with the rear axle(that i wont be using) we actually had to cut slits IN THE flywheel for the puller to hold on to, and screwed the bolt back in, and put the puller on, after much cursing, it FINALLY came off, and when it did, the middle actually separated from the flywheel
. UGH, it can be a bia, good luck!
