I can not seem to find any websites that list motorcycle seat foam and vinyl for sale I'm looking for about 6"-8" thick foam that I can cut and mold and then some nice vinyl to cover it.

Any ideas?

Ok, I have done this on one of my bikes and on go carts for the kids. I go to Jo'ann fabrics and buy the foam and material. They have everything in stock. If you dont have that store then you can look for Hancocks. Same type of store.

There are also companies that make replica seat foam for older bikes primarily for the restoring crowd.

Buy a roll mat for $10 and cover as many as you like.LOL

It is actually an old Honda I was looking for something more comfortable, something the GF and I can ride together, but the more I look at those cafe pans the more I'm tempted.....

What I can't figure out is where the heck the battery is on that ole' blue and white puppy you posted. Is it under the seat pan?

Err Battery its a KICK start remember those LoL seriously probably has a battery eliminator stashed under the tank like mine is / was

So just to be clear I can run the thing as only a kick start with out a battery? All I need is this battery eliminator? This makes a lot of things easier! Wait, do I just tie in the headlight and signals to the alternator system, or the battery eliminator? Or will it not work with lights?

i say, get a can of that spray foam insulation and spray a big piece of it and then cut it down...

Ha guys the battery is under the seat hump at rear.it was a small scooter battery.it was only for voltage regulation purposes.Kick start.Points model so no cdi to kill but the spark voltages leap arround if you dont get things sorted.battery is always stable output system.Doesnt need to be big.Scooter two strokes are light as.I just made a ally folded battery pan cradle that screwed across the rear sub bar that continued past the seat.i liked that look through effect.
the original battery was large in a heavy metal box.these old things needed big batteries mainly for lights etc.

Thats my standing quarter run at the first 10metres.Stock motor 13secs.

Ran really bad without the battery so i added later.

I am not familiar with Honda's and how they "power" their ignition system.
I can speak generally about bikes however. Some kickstart bikes spin a flywheel that generates electricity in the ignition system via magnets in the flywheel & static coils.

There are other types that rely on a battery to supply a static/fixed voltage in the coils and the flywheel has a cam to open & close points or a modern version there of such as hall effect switching system.

With the former type the battery is charged by the system so a battery eliminator can be used (if the charging coil is not removed for say lightening weight for racing) the lighting system can be connected to the eliminator BUT the lights will olny work if the engine is running.

Most states require that your horn works at all times so a nomal dry cell battery is a fiddle arranged to please the local cops :-}

I would check around the old time racer fraternity to find out who raced your model Honda and find out what they did to ditch weight ie the battery.
