dang i'm really glad my jacket has the 360 zipper inside now. I actually ordered a spare set of zippers to sew into another pair of pants.

Re: There are riders that have been down and ones that are going
I have been road riding and now racing for 20years.BMiller wrote:Welcome to the club bro..........there are 2 kinds of riders, those that have been down, and those that are going down. Glad you are still with us and with minor rash. Get that bike back together and get 'r back on the road asap
I have full leathers.Set for each road and race.
One suit tight fit and one loose for clothes underneath.
Two helmits both quality. One comp and comfort.
Boots for both. One race and one road.
Never start a bike unless im wearing the gear.
Zip together is way better or one piece. If you slide feet first your jacket rides to your arm pits.
mate of mine is paramedic and he says you can fix the breaks but broken or worn away skin leads to infection(worse case death)
Skin and flesh just dont stop wearing out until you stop sliding.
I havent come off yet but IF i do i want the least possible personal damage thanks.
Re: There are riders that have been down and ones that are going
Glad to hear you are ok, I have been down at around 55mph when some asshole cut me off, and thank god for the leather and helmet. Worst rash on my hands cause my dumb ass didn't have my gloves on. Get better and get back in the saddle.

Re: There are riders that have been down and ones that are going
Dang...that suck. But still, glad to see you're still mostly okay, and the bike looks repairable, so maybe with some new forks (R6 fork swap?) you can get back on the road.
I haven't gone down yet myself, but I definitely don't look forward to when it finally comes my turn. Maybe I'll wind up like my friend Dan who's ridden for over 20 years and never had a wreck...but I'm not holding my breath.

+1 on the gear............
+1 on getting that frame checked..........
If you get a new jacket get leather...Last wreck I was in back in 89 (on my 87 Fzr 1000) I was wearing a synthetic jacket that ripped open and melted into my skin/raodrash..Never wore anything but leather again.....Look on the bright side if you get another fzr 600 you already have a parts bike............................

Re: There are riders that have been down and ones that are going
WOW you were fortunate and wise to suit up. A few days ago I was speaking with a co worker about riding to work in a dress shirt and tie. He asked if I suited up everytime I rode? I replied with an odd look, yes of course. He said he only wore full gear if he "felt" he was going to ride aggressively, else he just wore a helmet and gloves.
Having been down myself, I can't have enough gear! And the one time I did I was able to walk away to ride another day.
rock the gear!!

Re: There are riders that have been down and ones that are going
Hey I was at the Shaghai F1 yesterday and got clocked doing 183 mph.... yes that is fast. like way f*ck fast . holy hsit that long straight away took half a heart beat to get to the end.
here are a series of pics from my crash a photographer sent me

Pushing hard to catch the yellow guy.

I am right on his ass can you see him in fornt of me?

I think at this point I knew I was down but still not wanting to give up I was trying to push down with my knee and get her back on two wheels

Game over - "Houston we have a problem" - nothing to do now but relax relax relax and go for a slide
coming to a stop

"Get up steve the race is not over!" I said to myself

My arm hurt too much to lift the bike and the shift lever was broke so of to the safe zone

OK game over for sure noew. two hours later Iwas on a plane heading back up to shanghai with a body full of Ibuprofen.

Well thats it for now. actually I was battling for NOT last place when this happened as the Kawi 05 636 I was on was skipping in and out of gears all race. going hot in a corner and then popping into neutral really sucks. takes the momentumm out of things and you tend to head toward the outside of the track. I had to do a quick upshift and safe my ass about 3 times per lap.
So I was just trying to finish the race at that point and gain a few points. The other issue was i would downshift once but it would go down two gears at a time which caused bad things to happen to the ass end.
Slipper clutch be dammed it woudld slide all over. all very distracating ha ha The fact I was racing with a chipped elbow bone, a broken toe and a fractured finger might have been bad enough but that shifting issue was more of a distration ,I think. funny how when I get on the grid its me the bike and nothing else. all pain is gone and I am focused 100% on whats about to happen. I hardly notice the umbrella girl even.
Some of the front runners are in the Asian Moto GP and are so fast I feel like a friging novice next to them. Kind of like racing against stoner or rossi. They are on full factory rides. I was on a no name companies rental bike thats been beat to shit for 7 year. Still a lot of fun and my sponsor is happy to have such good publcity and photos. so its all good.
The bike Spyder and I were building is about down then I can race for real.
