Looks damn good. 'm glad the swingarm was a bolt up deal. Make the rest of the item we need to do simple.

Can you take a picture of the thing together looking at the shock? Also, how much lower do you think it needs to be? I can try to draw up some dog bones that might fix it. I might need you to take apart the shock linkage and take some other measurements for me as well.

I just read your PM Billy. I knew you would need a shock mount. Crazy Ivan is the one that came up with mounting the shock mount where I have mine. The only thing I should have done was raise my mount up a little more higher on the sub frame. Because I didnt, is why I needed to add the lowering links. I also made a 1" spacer that I will be adding to my mount to lower my height a little more. Call me tomorrow.

That picture is from Joe's build, correct?

Your situation might be a little different. Are you using the FZR shock mount (knuckle) at the bottom since you are using a Fox TC from an FZR600? If so, you might be able to get away with some new dog bones. Got a picture of yours?

How much lower do you think it needs to be? What dog bones are in there now?

BMiller wrote:I can use the Fox TC with the R6 lower stuff..........the Fox is forked and the R6 is solid........or another way to explain is the Fox is a female end and the R6 shock is a male end. I'm running the R6 shock.

Yes, it's from Joe's build.
Is there a way to use the FZR linkage? I'm not familiar with the way the triangles mount to the swingarm, but if dog bones would mount there instead....might be worth trying to put the FZR shock linkage in to see if it is any different height wise. Plus that way you can use the Fox Shox.

Crazy idea, maybe this is along the lines of what you are thinking.

How long is a 748 shock? If the length is closer, you could get an Ohlins shock for the same price you sell the Fox. I know, crazy idea but you know what I'm talking about.

So.........forget a spacer. I went to my local machine shop with my R6 swingarm pivot sleeve and my FZR swingarm pivot bolt and VOILA!!! Brass bushings spaced in first thing the next day............$65ish later and I have this:

B,
Neat idea that sleeve seen it used somewhere before :headscratch:
As for the foot peg holder some skillful work with an angle grinder will put a neat chamfer on it, that allows a thin card to slip between it & the arm without interfering with the peg bolt or the frame bolts.

George,

I did the same thing on my 3TJ swingarm to make it a direct bolt on back in '04..........so yeah it's an old idea

Billy,
I knew I had seen it before but could not place where and I used it on my swinger swap last year but for the life of me I could not place the inspiration.
Thanks now I know where .:-}

f*ck... I knew I should have kept that frame lol. Looks like everything is workin out nice bill.. You should have that title already, if not it should be there in a day or so. But I sent it out like tues or wed this past week along with the factory aluminum frame stickers and some other yamaha stickers. Title is open for you to sign, if there is any issue with paperwork let me know because the last owner (the guy I bought it from) is my main powdercoater..

Bike looks good man

I wonder the same thing all the time...........I sold it to Chad (shutupandride) and he sold it to someone (as their first bike).........I'm hoping it made it, cus if it didn't I'm sure they didn't know that that rear end alone cost me over $650 for the swinger and rim setup.........LOL!
yea that was a custom rear end .. it was pimp tho i must admit
