i have no clue how to lower and raise floats..
last time I tore the carbs apart, I pulled off the floats to try and figure out how to lower them because two were higher than the other by a mm.
when I put them back on, they just all lined up at the same height so i felt lucky.
I just have no clue how to adjust them
still running rich

Re: still running rich
my bike lost alot of power after going threw a bunch of bumps and then putting it away and getting it 10 hours later...
the bike wouldnt start...
I eventually got it going but it sounded like it was running on 3 cylinders so I checked the plugs and there all fine and there is spark to all...
guy at mechanics shop said to check my float hieght...
I was forced to..
my float height is 21mm.
There is no way I can adjust these floats.
how the heck am I suppose to raise them?
do I need to put like a BB inside that thing that the cone shapped thing goes into???
i read im suppose to bend the metal tang on the floats to adjust...is this true?

Re: still running rich
allright...I set my floats the right height...still runs like fooking crap.
I dont know what the hell happened to my bike last night.
and some other great news...
I cant drive my bike at all anymore because where the full line meets the carbs, the part that it connects to on the carbs broke an is now leaking fuel everywhere.
So I need new carbs...I need motor work.I am over $1200 in debt that need to be paid in 30 days..
Im just fooked.
the only hope is that my brothers friend will let me use his R6 in return that I fix it for him.
fat chance though...

Re: still running rich
Yes, you bend the tang to adjust the float height.
Lost me there.do I need to put like a BB inside that thing that the cone shapped thing goes into???

Re: still running rich
Yep, just bend the tang ever so slightly (down to raise the float - up to lower). As I mentioned in my little how-to post, you REALLY have to watch carefully while doing this and take your time. It's fairly easy to screw it up if you don't look carefully. I've actually got an issue that needs to be worked out also so I feel your pain buddy. Now all of a sudden the bike sounds like it's running out of gas when revving and it pops a fair amount out the exhaust. GRRRRRRR!
She was running great the day before this started! Thursday - good. Friday - bad. Like I said - I feel your pain!
