There are riders that have been down and ones that are going

Post by bucket »

I am know one that’s been down… somebody turned left in front of me I went to swerve and locked up the front end, and went for a tumble. When I was rolling down the street the first thing that went thought my mind was when am I going to stop? the next thing was I should relax. I didn’t LOL. I was whirring work boots, a riding jacket and my trusty Bell Apex. I browsed my foot, some ribs , and my shoulder. along with some nice looking road rash on my love handles on my left side, and a bit on my back. My gear saved me from a lot more pain.

I can also say I’m a hard core biker… bandana I got home from the hospital at about 11 last nigh and was really awake. so my wife went to get my pain meds and when she got back she caught me looking for a new bike on CL. LOL

Well it's good to see you're ok and have minimal injury. Ride safe people.

Welcome to the club. Glad you made it out without too much damage to yourself. Sucks that you just repainted the bike. Is it a lost cause or is it fixable?
Yes, that is a Single Sided Swingarm FZR600 that I built.

Something is lurking, waiting, wanting to be built......It calls to me from the darkness....

I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel....Then I realize that it is the train coming to run my ass over....

Bucket,
Sorry to hear about your trip down the road, glad you are ok'ish.

Forget using any of your old kit. The helmet will have hairline cracks & internal compression that will add up to failure on your next impact
Do the world a favour put a hammer thro it lest someone use it later & kill themselves (kids nicking junk from your bin !)

The jacket will need to have the seams inspected for frayed threads as will your pants.

Next time buy a "paired" jacket & pants that zip together then no more sore love handles for your wife to kiss better LoL

That's awesome that you came out with only a few bruises and some road rash. We're all glad to hear that you are okay! I've been down a few times myself, and good gear saved me both times, no doubt!
Glad to see your itching to get back on the saddle.

What's the bike look like now?

Glad to hear you're OK!
Now you're on the side line like me, for a bit.
Sucks after all that work you just did on the bike, but thank GOD you're alive and not hurt too bad.
No pics of the fizz, after the crash?
Heal up, and get back in the seat soon......

got lucky man, your helmet looks like it took pretty minimal damage, but for sure replace it. looks like your jacket held up pretty good. let me know whenever you're bringing the bike home and need help unloading. work schedule hasn't changed just yet, i'm still wednesday-saturday 7am-6pm.

and let me know if you need anything else in the meantime, i'm around if ya need me :shocker

?! Do I wanna ask ... ? :whistle

I remember a thread on a different board, years ago - guy was talking about titanium this, carbon fiber that, asking the best way to reduce sprung weight on his bike. My response was basically "Ummm... Jenny Craig?" :-D

Glad to see that's all you walked away with. I've retired a race suit due to repeated enhanced redistribution of gravity; I look at it some days, and try and imagine what my tender hide woulda looked like without it...

+1000 to scrapping the hat - it's done it's job, it's single use. Use it again, bad things may happen. There should be someone in your area who does leather jackets; even better if they do actual race leathers. Your gear needs checking out; the abraded areas need to be massaged with special goop to replace the oils burned out by the heat of skittering down the tarmac. Good luck!

^^ na I want a jacket and a set of pants that zip together. The jacket saved me from a lot of rash but I want better protection for the love handles.
