Using the FZR dogbones. I am going to have some made this week that are an inch shorter.

I stand corrected on the YZF knuckle thing. I edited my post above. Thanks dude.

Quick update.

Just had some 1 inch shorter than stock FZR dogbones made. They are a bit crude since they were cut on a bandsaw and shaped with a bench grinder but they will work.

One of the machinists at work is using the CNC machine to mill down my rearsets. What i am having done is making the bolt hole that holds the footpegs a bit deeper so the raised end that sits closest to the swingarm can be grinded down so it will clear without having to use any spacers.

Will post pics when done. While I have it all apart i am going to put some 8MM spark wires on my Ford Escort Coil and update my fuel filter as well.

yeah, I had to do the same thing. Grind down the welded nut on the bottom mount. i took about 1/2 of it off with a angle grinder. No problems now.

OK guys. I made these dog bones that are 1 inch shorter than the stock FZR ones. It sets the bike too damn high. I tihnk I need to go with 1/2 inch ones shorter than stock. Anyone know where i can get a set? Im not about to try to make any others. Takes too damn long.

There are a few people here that can make you a set. Haunter, ThatKid, and ModKing come to mind first but I know there are others...

Reelrazor makes adjustable dogbones, saves swapping back and forth. Drop him a line, he's here regularly.

OK. Talked to my buddy at work who has access to the machne shop. he is going to cut me a set of bones that are a little bit thicker than the stock steel ones. 5/16ths shorter than stick. That should give me a little more than 1 inch rais eion the back. I should be good with these....

New dogbones work great. Gave me a little slack in the chain that I needed. Maybe a little taller than stock. Ran into trouble with the foot brake side rear set. Seems this one needs to be spaced out alot more than the shifter side. Working on making some spacers for it. I should be riding tomorrow morning.

Quick update. got the rearsets on. I ran into a little problem since I had th einside of the footpeg bolt hole milled out. I had to use a DIE and make more threads on the bolt so the shoulder of the bolt wouldnt hit the threads before tightning up.

I used a nut thats about 10mm spacer on the brake side rearset. I'll have to get a custom spacer for it. Tomorrow morning I will put the brake linkage on and put all the plastics and sprocket cover on and take it for a short ride around the block.

Test ride worked out good. No noises or rubbing or anything else that I didnt hear. Only thing now is that the rear feels very stiff. Do I have to adjust my shock now that I raised the rear a bit?

Here are some pics of the completed project.
