Just didn't want you to get them and be disappointed. I would offer to send you a video, but all I have is my phone, and while it is an LG EnV, the videos are nothing spectacular, and it would be a little hard to tell.

I stick to my earlier statement of being happy with their performance as headlights, but I do have to admit; I have thought about adding 1 wide-beam foglamp just under the front fairing to be able to keep up with what's on the side of the road better. Members here in the Southeast US can sympathize when I talk about what a problem white-tail deer can be at night time on country roads.

I cut through the Mountain here in Kennesaw on the way back from class and its dark as hell with many deer. I know its worse for you over in Bama. My buddy has a 636 and his headlights when he's behind me riding brightens the whole damn rode and its nice. Notice how I mentioned behind the fizzer. Im a more seasoned rider than him.

I have to retract my previous statements about the 60w H4 bulbs' reliability. My headlights worked this morning on the way to work, but didn't on the way home, and with a little playing with the bike I got them to work again tonight. I don't have time to investigate tonight, but I checked the fuse this afternoon and it is still good. It's unknown whether or not it was heat, a short in the wiring, or an overload in the switch. I'll investigate and keep you guys posted.

First place to start looking is the fuse (which you already did). Second place is the starter button. This button is a well documented source of headlight problems. If they don't come on, just jiggle the button a little. If that doesn't work, then move on to see if it is wiring. Of course this is all after you check the bulb. LOL

OK, so as you know Im picking up Nhfzrs bike the 28th, and he has the 8000 h.i.d's in it. And I also just bought a 92 upper and am going to be switching that upper onto it. Will the 8000 h.i.d bulbs be a swipe over, or is there wiring I am going to have to do. I thouhgt having 8000's was just buy the bulb and throw it in, but as I read earlier it seems everyone is wiring then to different shit. Im just wondering so when I do the swap it will go as smothly as possible. :whistle IDK

HID lights use a ballast to turn the light on and provide a constant and steady power source similar to a florescent light (but ultra high wattage). You should be able to hook it up to the single headlight, but you will only use one bulb at a time. That means you'll have an extra one for when the first one burns out (which should be well over 2 years). The wiring might be a little confusing, but should work as long as you can look at the wires and figure out which one goes where.

I pulled the bike into my dad's shop/workspace last night, and when I fired it up, the headlights came on for a second and went back off. It's probably the starter switch then. Thanks for the pointer.

I'm gonna look around for a little bit and see if there's an inexpensive suitable replacement, like a piece off of an R6 or R1.

You could use the wire harness that is already there. Just unplug one light.

No problem. Just so you know, be careful which switch you use to replace. I can't remember which year they started making the switch and throttle assembly separate. Get the wrong one and you'll have to look for both items.

So then Itd be just 1 setting no high or low.

That is correct unless they are the dual xeon bulbs. But you need to remember two things. First is that the HID will give you more light than a halogen bulb on it's high beam setting. Second is that the '92 front cowl you are switching to uses a single headlight not the two round ones. There is only one bulb in it not two.

Now all this is assuming you are using the standard US light. You can find the single headlight units with two bulbs from the UK and Germany but the bulb type is different than the US market so the lights that are coming with the bike would be useless anyway.
