I have been wanting a chest protector of some sort for when I am racing. This incorperates the chest and back protector all in one.
I need to fit it with my leathers on to see if I can do it. Problem is there are none her in China to try on so I have to take a blind step and either get it or not.
My other alternative is to use a bit of impact dispersing foam we use in the leather race suits and cut to fit the chest area. Which am working on now.
I just want a bit more padding in the chest and rib area. I plan on crashing this season as I plan to push the shit out of myself and the bike a bit more than I have been. I am getting old enough that I can see my true race seasons are coming to an end and soon I will be just having fun and not competing all that hard so this year I am going for it while I am still in good shape and form.
Anyway, anythougt on chest/rib protection in general is welcome.

Re: chest / rib protection for racing
I actually have one of those, but I don't wear it too much. It's comfortable and seems like it would pad really well, but due to muscle loss in my lower back from an old Cocxyx injury, I usually wear my Teknic Knox spine guard with its integrated kidney belt for lower back support.
Good thing about the field armor vest is that it only takes a second or two to put on or take off. One con though is that it's not CE rated, so theoretically it won't protect your back as well as an all-out spine guard, such as the Teknic Knox.
I can't guarantee the thing, as I haven't been down in it (thankfully) but it seems like for something like stunting, where it's lower speeds and not as hard of impacts, it would be a perfect total upper body protector. For the higher speeds of racing, I'd probably go with one of those Thor or other such racing approved armored undersuits, even if they are a little more expensive.

Well I practice safe bike sex and with this thing I will need a full body condom ha hamegaloxana wrote:..But anway quick off-topic question for you steve, what are you doing for protection for your bike?
Ok seriously for protection for the bike I hired a guy named MR Wang. he is a huge Mongollian and ........ oh not that kind of protection.
I plan to get some sort of frame slider set on there but have no real idea just yet. Because I have the YZF engine I thought maybe use one of the available bolt holes in its mount that I am not using. But again I have not looked into it all that much.
I did think of a frame skid plate type slider that clamps the fairing between a few pieces of metal with padding on the fairing side. then bolt or weld that to the frame somehow.
So basically I got nothing really

Lokk at LSL frame sliders. They are supposed to keep the bike from tumbling by keeping the bike sliding forward.
