Guess I won't be riding this spring....

Post by Dragon »

banghead :swear banghead :swear

Just a minor rant... :mad(
So as the topic states, I'm going to be on the shelf for a couple of months. I hate this :swear snow with a passion now!
To make a long story short, I broke my right leg. So no driving, riding, or doing anything else until my leg heals. Came home on Thursday (snow day) for lunch break, and my world slipped out from under me. Came out the truck and started walking to my gate and stepped on to the side walk which I had cleaned the day before of ice. Well I guess you could never clean good enough. Slipped and broke my leg in three places, which I had to get surgery to fix my leg back. PAIN,PAIN, PAIN>>> Now I have a piece of titanium rod in my leg with screws holding my bones in place :swear . Just came home from the hospital today, but couldn't post up right away cause of all the drugs I'm on. Still on clouds, but I've gotten some of my bearings back so I could type this. Well, I just thought I would share my past couple days with ya all.
OK, I'm going back on my clouds again..... These meds got me buzzzzzing!!!!

Hope your back to 100% soon!

That sucks Dragon. We went snowboarding at Lutsen this weekend and it occurred to me that this is probably the last weekend I could break something and still be healed up in time for riding season.

Welcome to the club of metal implants. Take a picture of the x-ray if you get the chance. I only have a small (3/16" wide x 3/32" thick x 4" long) piece of titanium but I was amassed they were able to get 7 screws into it. If the doc wants you to do physical therapy, take my advice and do it. It really does help. But they will be monitoring how your bone is healing more than anything else.
Yes, that is a Single Sided Swingarm FZR600 that I built.

Something is lurking, waiting, wanting to be built......It calls to me from the darkness....

I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel....Then I realize that it is the train coming to run my ass over....

HUH??? screwy Didn't catch this at all.

Thanks for all the replies, guys.
Hopefully, I'll get healed up quick and still have my job when I do. They laid off a couple people in January, so I could be on the chopping block because of this........................ What really sucks is that I still need to do some (miner) work on the fizz, before I can ride. Was trying to get it all done before spring, but now it will have to wait until I can get around without the crutches.
As for posting more 95, we'll see. I don't really post up unless I'm sure what's going on. Don't want to be talking a bunch of smack ya dig......
Now off to recovery!!!

Do you have short or long term disability insurance?

The ins we have at my shop (both short and long term) pays MORE than unemployment.....

It's occurred to me more than once that it would be a 'safer' way to ride out the recession......
