I'll have to convert this from inches to mm for my conversion. 1 inch=25,4 mm. And I'm a little confused about the 7/16ths :headscratch:
Is 8,5 inches ok? That would be 8,5 x 2,54 = 215,9 mm ?

Or could I just measure my FZR swingarm and make it the same lenght?
It has to be between 8.47 to 8.50 inches from end to end cut. Whatever that is in mm I dont know. I used a machinist ruler with 100th's scale on it in inches.

Mine actually came out to 8.45 inches because I forgot to tak einto account the thickness of the bandswa blade doing the cutting. If I have to i will use a small shim behind the cap and washer to compensate but it shouldnt be a problem.

Thanks dude. I don thave a shock yet and just going to use the stock one for now. This project is running me close to 500 bucks. Im going to buy some dogbones from ebay. The kind that have multiple holes in them so i can get it to how I like it.

well one thing i found out is that if u have a fzr 520 vortex rear sprocket you can just bore the wholes a tiny bit and it will fit instead of replacing and buying a new rear sprocket for your yzf600r wheel

215 is way wrong the swing arm with dustcaps is 222mm wide on all the 400 & 600 model FZR's I have measured and that is just afew considering the swing arms my bike has had

Take an Old engineers advice do not buy those they are VERY poorly made with not enough "beef" round each set of holes to take any kind of wear.

As a very temp measure maybe but the temptation is to leave them in place and there has been at least one report of material failure here in the uk lucky the guy was just bruised up as it failed at low speed (he had been on the track racing !!!!!!)

Thanks for the heads up. I'll be careful when selecting dogbones. I think I will use the stock FZR ones for now. If I find a set later that are maybe 1/2 inch shorter than the stock FZR ones I will get them.

My chain came in today. It's a KMC brand one. 520 / 120 links. Came only with the clip style master link.

I have a clip style master link on my DID gold now for several years and it hasnt been a problem.

I should get all the other parts in by next week. But the bearings might take the longest. Im at the mercy of those so I can begin to install this thing. Hopefully everything lines up like its supposed to. So far I haven't measured anything off of the FZR. I have just gone by what you guys have said here on the forum.

My JT 1307 sprocket came in today also. I opted to go with the 14T one.

Didn't have the opprtunity to paint the swingarm yesterday or the new rim. It was too cold and windy. The paint wouldnt have come out good. I guess I will have to wait until it warms up a bit outside.

Thats the same sprocket I went with and I ground down a bolt to fit into one of the threads to keep it from turning. At the time I didnt have a bolt in but you can see how it would help keep the nut from turning if there were a bolt in there.

Cool. Thats what I plan on doing. Maybe a socket cap bolt will fit without any grinding if the nut lines up just right.

BTW...........what size is the nut?
