*cracks knuckles*

Reverse track the number. Get me an address. I'll take it out of his flesh... or steal something of comparable value and send it to you. I've been fighting the urge to email the guy I bought mine from and ask him why the hell he bothered posting it as a 92Genesis if he had no idea what he was talking about, I dunno though, doubt it would do much good. Maybe I will get it running and just mad max it straight through his front door...

Well, I must have been duped.. I just did a reverse check on the address.. doesn't exist:

2131 Berger St.
Bakersfield, CA
93305

I sent the guy 87.93 USD via Western Union.. And he obviously picked it up, and I've talked to the guy NUMEROUS times over the phone on the number he gave me.. Kept getting the runaround from him.. He finally gave me a tracking number which was bogus and after talking to USPS and Fedex, they both confirmed the numbers a dud and that nothing was sent to my address in the timeframe we're talkin about...

*sigh*.. oh well I guess.. That's it for me buying online unless it's through paypal on ebay or through the boards here..

banghead

Oh.. here's the original Craigslist listing.. http://bakersfield.craigslist.org/mcy/648048807.html

dammit I'm mad.

That does suck. I don't think I would ever buy anything from CL sight unseen, there's just too much BS floating around there and you don't really have any recourse if the deal goes belly up.

Wow. Doesn't look too good. Yeah, unless you're Mad Max, I'd just get rid of it. E-bay or something. It may not even part out, as, not many people have FZ's any more. Be sure you know what you're getting next time. Buy something that you can get some pleasure out, that looks reasonably fixable. I guess that's relative to mechanical ability / daring. Yeah, try local Craigslist or Cycle Trader dot com.

ragedigital wrote:+1 on parting it out. It will cost you the price of a used R6 to find all the parts needed to get it going. Just doesn't seem fair sometimes...
+1 more on parting it...
Unless your wanting to put a shit ton of work into it, :thumbsdown besides im sure there is a bunch of people on here that would love to have at them parts, you could make your money back and maybe a lil more for your heartache.. just keep an eye open on Craiglist there is always something good on there for cheap.. GOOD LUCK

So... here's what seems worth selling on this thing...

The front/rear brake calipers/rotors/wheels all seem like they are fine. The rotors don't have any wear and don't appear to have been turned anytime recently...

The rear swing arm is fine along with the rest of the frame, it's not nearly as pretty as the deltabox... which I wish I had noted 2 weeks ago... nevertheless its all there and appears to be in good working order, no cancer that I noted.

Image

The guy I got it off of said that all the carbs had been rebuilt and synched, I can't testify to that but it's the only information I have to go on. From the reliability of what else I received I don't know that I believe him, but... like I said...

Image

It's had to determine what sort of shape the engine is in. I'd like to at least get it to turn over, maybe even start, just so I know what I am getting rid of if somebody asks. How hard is it to hardwire the system enough to get it to kick? Battery-Ignitor-Cables-Plugs + Fuel/Air and you are good to go? Granted none of the other electronics would work, but knowing the engine isn't frozen up in there would make me more comfortable selling it to someone... as far as I know though it is in decent working order...

Lastly the front fork looks okay...

Any opinions on what this stuff is worth, if it's even worth dealing with, or if I should just eat the 150 and dump the thing? I can put it all up on the for sale area as well, just thought I'd get some opinions first... thanks-
