fuel gunk in airbox help!

it rained hard all day today and my bike was sitting in it for a good 5 or so hours and then I drove it home in the pouring rain.
but on my way, my bike started acting like it wasnt getting fuel and when I twisted the throttle all the way the bike didnt respond but made that running out of fuel sound.
so I pulled over in the rain and checked and I had fuel...my fuel pump was working, and my fuel was turned on.
so I just thought the rain might have flooded a spark plug or something.
but talking to few of the guys, they said i might have to much moisture in my intake.
I removed my airbox and saw alot of moisture beaded up on the slides in my intake.
I also noticed the inside of my airbox seemed to be all wet so I openned it up and found alot of moisture AND fuel build up crap like you would find in your carbs.
its like a brownish gunk thats hard to clean out. and it smelt like gas.
but the inside of the boots of the airbox are spotless!
it only has moisture and gunk on the top inside of the airbox right above the boots.

i dont know if this could be because of worn emulsion tubes. I checked them about to months ago and there where no signs of wear.

any input on this guys?

The emulsion tubes would denote signs of richness. Black smoke, gas smell. Stuff like that. Giving the airbox, filter, and the carbs a good wipe down and drying out should correct it. Try that first.

i believe the gunk is from when it was cold and I didnt let the bike warm up and the crankcase breather tube coughed up some white gunk...
I still dont know how THAT much moisture got into the airbox...it was like soaked...

Also rotate the pipe on the bike so the exhaust exit doesn't point he way it does in your signature picture. The guy I got my bike from had problems with the carbs and spark plugs because water kept getting into the muffler. Have the exhaust point straight back.
