Lost my key, Need some help
I lost the only copy of my key, i know... should have copied it to begin with. How do i remove the ignition switch so i can take it to a locksmith and have a key built?
Re: Lost my key, Need some help
I believe the screws are underneath the assembly. Remove top triple and unplug the wires. Take it to your locksmith.

sounds a Bit 'Shady' if you ask me...
i believe its two nuts, not screws, or at least thats how it is on my bike.
and its hard to find a socket that will fit it because the bolt is in-set like its not on the surface, its deeper down.
youll see what I mean when you look at it

If you wrote down the key code you can have a perfect key made from that. I remember my friends ninja 250 we had the locksmiths make a key for the helmet lock and the tank lock, but the key wouldn't work. When he gave the locksmith the key code it worked the first try on everything.
see page 14 of the owner's manual for more info.
Everyone go write down your key codes!

they are on the assembly. And that would be the ignition assembly.
Re: Lost my key, Need some help
Key codes are found on the key itself, which is why you should write it down. It's the 6 digit number stamped right next to the black plastic part of the key. (mine starts with a letter FWIW)

No problem here. I dropped off my r6 upper triple w/ignition last week for him to make a key. When I do the fork swap it will include the upgraded ignition w/key and Ill just have to wire it in.

you can also replace the lock center with the one on your fzr and use the same key...
