600 and 400 subframe
Are the 600 and 400 sub frames the same design? If not, how different are they?

The 400 bolts to the it's frame, while the 600s sub-frame is welded to the frame. They are; however, both steel - the subframes that is.

So they are built completely differently? I ask because I saw a guy put a new r1 tail onto a 400 sub so I was wondering if it would be the same for a 600 sub.

yeah you can swap tails on any bike but the subframes are not the same if you were thinking of using 600 parts on a stock 400.

You can with work fit any tail to a FZR, I have seen Aero-techs, R1, R6, Ducati, GSXR & even a Honda Blackbird tail all fitted BUT it takes a little bit of bracket making & welding in some instances.
