dog bone adjustment

is it best to have the the link on the middle slot?
mine was set so my tail was high up, so I put it on the last link and now its to low...
what do you guys have yours set on?
Im going to try the middle link tomorrow...
its to low that the kickstand makes the bike stand straight up...im afraid it will tip...and it will...

Its up to the ride height that you like. We all come in different sizes so you need to pick the one that fits you.

I liked the way I had it in the beginning, but when you look at the rear of the bike, it just looked too high...

Sounds like you have a set of aftermarket dog bones like the ones you see on ebay. The middle hole is supposed to be stock height. The top hole is supposed to raise the bike up 1 or 2 inches (can't remember exact measurement) and the bottom supposedly brings it down almost 3 inches. I personally don't like those myself. I just don't trust that they are strong enough to hold with the holes being so close to each other. A custom length set will always suit you better in the end (no pun intended). That way the bike is set at the right height for you and your riding style.

do stock dogbones only have one hole?

they are extremly close to eachother. it worries me to. its only like 1/4" aluminum I think.

Set it til you feel comfortable. Just be careful riding when you're adjusting the height because it makes a big difference in handling. I raised mine higher because I felt the bike is too short. I also like the look of my tail when its high.

my tail is going to be chopped off.
im doing what freeze did.
so i can set the r1 subframe on it howver I want.
does the bike handle better higher in the rear? or lower?

Generally you can get quicker steering if you lower the front end and raise the rear a bit.

Yep. The stock ones look like these (although the ones pictured aren't FZR bones):


They don't necessarily dictate handling because the shock,forks, and how they are setup are supposed to take care of that. They are more to help dictate ride height and support the rear shock. But as said, it will change the turn-in speed.
