YZF or other front fairing?

Post by rockthis »

Guys, some a$$hole hit my bike in a parking lot yesterday and drove off (no cameras or witnesses). He was even nice enough to put it back as if nothing happened. What a douche.

Either way, I've got a 92 FZR so i have the single headlight which are hard to find fairings for. I could go the double bubble headlight conversion, which i will probably do (not sure if i need new stays, etc)

What about the YZF fairings? what years fit.. and does anyone have any pics of other front cowls on fizzer's?

I'm probably willing to go hybrid with just about anything.

That crap pisses me off. I was at Target last weekend, taking my helmet off when I saw some chick back right into another car. She parked and got out, looked at her car (no damage), looked at the other car (license plate holder shattered, lying in parking lot), and got back in her car. I was getting my phone out to note her plate number when another guy walked up and tapped on her window. She looked like she was about 16 too; big thanks to the parents for teaching her right.

depending on how much you would be willing to spend look at the link in my post a little bit down, it looks like they have a street single headlight front fairing

Yea, its pretty sad.. i was parked in angle parking spots right in front of the store, ran in to just grab a pack of meat to grill. Come out to damage. He pulled out the opposite way of the angled lines without looking im sure, and basicly his front bumper nailed my fairing and then tipped the bike over. I noticed today riding that my right side handlebar is bent as well. I have an extra set i need to put on i guess.

A replacement is fine, i could go that route. And the double bubble headlight is an easy conversion. I just figured this winter i might do a full conversion. get a r6 tail and front skins and just do it all.

I saw a pretty 98 FZR with r6 front fairing, i know it can be done, just now sure how the lowers fit, and if you have to change out any speedo stuff. I would hope not but i think the r6 nose is longer, and made for the single guage, therefor the FZR stuff would be crammed if you didnt move the clocks.

You can buy aftermarket 92 single headlight fairings.
If your fairing stay is straight and headlight isnt cracked your good to go

but if you want to convert to a 89-90 93-99 setup, you need - mirror stay, fairing stay, headlight, fairing, and windscreen.

Any conversion is possible really but you would need to modify your side fairings to fit which usually isnt fun at all.

I watched a guy brutally smash his door in to the vehicle next to it. He got out like nothing happened, walked around his car to get books out of the other side and then decided he was going to walk off. I ran over there and stopped him and asked him if he had forgot that he just smashed someones door. He told me he didn't have time for "this crap" right now, he was late to class. I knew the person that owned the other vehicle, so I called him while I stood there with the idiot. I told the kid "I don't care one damn bit about you class, your staying right here." Now he is paying to have it fixed.

Some people just have no common sense, or a conscious.

Damage isnt that bad. I can probably repair. Already have a new stator cover on the way. Ill clean up for the rest of summer and just ride im sure. Do the tail swap and repaint this winter maybe.

Its repairable, just cracked on a crease and this is maybe the 3rd version of this fender. (Meaning fixed twice before) so.. its just getting to be that time. When its halfway held together by fender washers. :thumbsdown
