Part number for stator cover gasket?

I got some NRC covers and am ordering gaskets. In the schematic bike bandit has its got 3448-001 listed for the right side cover, but it doesn't have the gasket for the stator cover listed. Anyone know the part number? Maybe I'm just overlooking it or something, I dunno. I probably should just find a dealer around here.

Yea, I cant find it either. Thats pretty weird. Maybe call your local parts store and ask them.

It doesn't have one. Doesn't need one.

It doesn't hold oil (not supposed to-if it does, you need a crank seal).

Any incidental moisture that gets in there will be eliminated by heat. The stator windings are dipped in epoxy and the pickup coil is sealed.

If it was sealed, condensation would likely be a bigger problem than untrapped moisture.

Allright, thanks guys. I thought that might be the case, because I know it doesn't hold oil. I figured it would still have a gasket though since its metal to metal. Appreciate the help. It's odd though on the instructions it comes with it tells you to drain your oil, and make sure to check for leakage...

Generic NRC instructions.
A lot of bikes run the stator wet in oil. A lot of dry stator covers actually have a weep/drain hole.

(and as an aside-if any of you guys have Polaris 4wheelers....right under the pull rope inboard of the footrest is a 17mm bolt pointing straight up into the engine case right next to the recoil housing. Go and pull that bolt and let the water out. That's a drain for the flywheel/stator/recoil housing. They take water in at the rope hole and it stays and gets deep and corrodes shit. I've replaced 30 Polaris stators in the last 5 years for that reason alone)

You don't use chain lube? Or ever lube your clutch cable? You don't have an oily sand goo mess behind it everytime you take it off?-It'd be the first bike I have seen that doesn't.

Still doesn't explain the need for a gasket, especially when the sprocket cover only covers a little over half the space - leaving the chain exposed, etc...

I think the sprocket cover was a poor design from the start. You shouldn't be able to have the chain throwing foreign objects into the clutch push rod assembly and or the clutch cable, but that's exactly how they designed it.

That's it, I'm selling my FZR and buying a GSXR....
