I've got a '92 600 with a Vance and Hines Supersport System. I'm going to get one of the K&N filters to go in the original airbox, because I've heard the pods cut down your low end power. I haven't had the bike long, and I'm sure the carbs have never been cleaned. The bike runs alright as it is, theres not much power down low though. It doesn't pick up until about five or six grand.
I'm going to take the carbs off and clean them, so I figured I might as well rejet them if it would net me any kind of gain, since I have the exhaust.
My questions are what size are the stock jets, what would you recommend I try, and where can I purchase them.
Something I forgot to mention, the bike won't idle with the choke all the way off. My buddy told me it was probably the smaller jets were clogged and I was having to choke it to make up for the lack of fuel.
From what I've read on here, I should also drill out the covers on the adjustment screws, turn them in all the way, then out two complete turns, and go from there on tuning, correct?
Also, emulsion tubes: what is their purpose? Should I go ahead and get new ones since I'm taking them apart already?
