Recommendations on carb jetting?

I already posted this on the archives, but I figured the more input the better.

I've got a '92 600 with a Vance and Hines Supersport System. I'm going to get one of the K&N filters to go in the original airbox, because I've heard the pods cut down your low end power. I haven't had the bike long, and I'm sure the carbs have never been cleaned. The bike runs alright as it is, theres not much power down low though. It doesn't pick up until about five or six grand.

I'm going to take the carbs off and clean them, so I figured I might as well rejet them if it would net me any kind of gain, since I have the exhaust.

My questions are what size are the stock jets, what would you recommend I try, and where can I purchase them.

Something I forgot to mention, the bike won't idle with the choke all the way off. My buddy told me it was probably the smaller jets were clogged and I was having to choke it to make up for the lack of fuel.

From what I've read on here, I should also drill out the covers on the adjustment screws, turn them in all the way, then out two complete turns, and go from there on tuning, correct?

Also, emulsion tubes: what is their purpose? Should I go ahead and get new ones since I'm taking them apart already?

just go ahead and do a carb rebuild with a "Factory Pro 1.1 Ti Pro kit"
its much cheaper than the dynoJet jet kit and you get emulsion tubes and everything else with the kit.
its what im running and it works great. and theres no drilling required. its a "drop-in" basis

I see on the factory pro website they have part #CRZ-EMU-100160k for $96/ 4pcs. I'm guessing this just includes the jets? it says four pieces, is that just for one carb, so you have to buy four of them? Also, are these stock replacements? What are the stock size jets?

this is the kit I have
#CRB-Y02-1.1-TI for $149. it comes with everything for everyone of your carbs.

the product you were looking at was just emulsion tubes, and it comes with four (one for each carb)
go to the sam page and scroll down a little until you see a section called "Factory Pro Supersport Carb Recalibration Kits" its right under the emulsion tubes.
it will be the second product under that section

when you enter factorypro.com
click on "Product Sales" at the very top
then you will have to click on manufacture type (find Yamaha. its right under triumph)
after that, find your bike type
"FZR600, 89-99 US and all other
Supersport Carb Recalibration kits, Ignition Advance Kit, Shift improvement Kits" and click on the blue link all the way to the right "Y02-click here "
from there, scroll down past the emulsion tubes and youll see the carbs kits, it will be the second carb kit and will have a purple instruction paper in the kit

It's not cheaper than the DynoJet kit. DynoJet kits are around $100 shipped.

The FP kit does not include the Emulsion tubes. It includes the same thing that the DynoJet kit does. Either kit you buy, you will have to buy the FP emulsion tubes separate.

Since I ran a K&N and a Supersport full exhaust I went with new emulsion tubes and 126 mains (DynoJet). I set the needle on clip #3 and it ran better than it ever did. Screamed at the track - I wish I took some video with it.

its about $135 shipped for the dynojet kit. that is cheaper, I thought it was 180 for some reason.
I just like how you dont have to drill the slides to fit the needles in the factory pro kit.
not that I would, but if I ever wanted to put stock stuff back on the bike and put the stock needles in, then I couldnt if I had the dynojet kit because the holes would be to big. (those whores)

I never drilled the holes... most people don't. I would imagine that it would have better throttle response, but I never tried it.

You don't have to buy the kit directly from DynoJet. Many companies carry them and sell them cheap. On eBay the DJ kits are $108 shipped.

I'm not saying that DJ is better or worse, they are just what was in my bike when I bought it and it worked very well for me.

I noticed that in the instructions on the 4129 it says to place the e-clip in the fifth groove, while on the HA it says to place it on the first.

I dont think it makes a difference on which one you go for. I say go for price.

Nope, the Factory Pro does not come with them. You must purchase them separately.

The HA stands for "High Altitude".
