I hope you do get it fixed.shredex wrote:new sprocket and chain also...Dragon wrote: OR new clutch time with all those wheelies you've been doing!!
I removed the sprocket drive cover that the clutch cable connects to so I could see if I could mount my speed sensor so it reads off the front sprocket, and while I was at it, I cleaned out the inside of that case because it was filled with gunk. when I put everything back together, thats when I had my clutch issue...
Im hoping I fixed it, Ill find out tomorrow.
Good luck, hopefully you don't need new friction plates, yet.

Re: clutch adjustment question
I cleaned that out too when I installed my new chain and sprocket. Took like 4 cans of brake parts cleaner. It collects crap WAY too easily.shredex wrote:new sprocket and chain also...Dragon wrote: OR new clutch time with all those wheelies you've been doing!!

Re: clutch adjustment question
I pretty much spaked it in engine degreaser. then scrubbed it down in some water and blow dried it and installed.the_finch wrote:

Brake cleaner work well?
engine degreaser removes rust too.

Re: clutch adjustment question
Brake cleaner works wonders, just don't get it on your chain if you're planning on using that chain again. It'll get all of the lube out of the o-rings as well, leading to chain failure.
It only took me so many cans because the previous owner had never cleaned it out, and I had to spray it then (at times) carve the crap out with a putty knife.
