is there a FZR600R anywhere in america?

Post by shredex »

I found out about the FZR600R which has a much nicer looking frame/swingarm/cowlings than a regular fzr600. and it has the fzr1000 fox eye headlights.
The only time iv ever found anything on these bikes, it was always in some foriegn language. and I noticed that NO one owns one on the forums.

and I also want the front fender on the bike.

What you have found my friend is the 94-96 YZF600 (AKA the Euro FZR600R). Ever wonder why you look at a Clymer manual and it says "89-93"? That's why.

No they were here as well from 94 to 96 but were called YZF600r. Then in 97 they were changed to this

I like how the fairing go to the frame. it looks much nicer. once I get the cash I might put those fairings on my bike.
and I want the front fender!
I hate how the FZR's dont go along the forks.

and you still havent gotten that 1000 running yet?? what all does it need?

i really like the '97+ yzf600, except for the one piece seat. i had a co-worker a couple years ago that had one, REAL quick bike. they were loads cheaper at the time too. nowadays i think you can get an early '00 r6 for around $4k which is what i usually see the yzf's go for.

Should have some updates this weekend. Gonna rebuild a set of carbs (i have 4 sets to choose from) and put on another set of coils. Hopefully it'll fire up.

The 97 onward yzf600 is HIDEOUS. I don't know what Yamaha was thinking. The earlier one looks way better IMO.
fzr660/400: fzr400 3en1 frame, 3en2 swinger, custom single seat subframe, fzr660 motor conversion, APE adjustable cam gears, full D&D 4-2-1 exhaust, falicon clutch basket, ignitech ignition, R6 front end with tz250 wheel, ohlins shock, storz steering damper, tzr250 rear wheel.

weighs 166kg wet (25kg lighter than my stock fzr600).

most of the ones in the original post arent YZF 600's as they have USD's,

the first one is waht sweeksters bike looks like in mint condition, but its not cuz it has the wrong forks and front brakes.

the 3rd one is a YZF750 for sure, the others are nonfactory colors, but the YZF750 and 600 look very alike, save front and rear ends

no, the FZR's header bends 90 degrees off of the head and then bends 45 to go under the engine..but the pipes on the YZF bend 45 45 45 on pipes 1 and 4, and 45 - 90on pipes 2 and 3. so the top of the header is just as close to the tire between both headers, but the rest of it is closer to the tire, just not too close.
