That is FUNNY as hell....... Hadnt thought of the Banchee anymore ..It pisses me off!!! But now that you brought that up, I would be safe on a 1000 of any kind....they were all outrunnin him....and he kept lining up with me cause I was the smallest bike......oohh well I will get him one day!!!

I doubt any 1000cc bike is going to get 40mpg unless you ride it according to the law.
The way I ride mine i'm lucky to get 35mpg.

I have to go with the CBR1000RR, my buddy just bought an 07 left over and paid like 7400.00. We went out riding last week and he let me ride his for about 45 minutes and it is absolutley sick. Very comfortable, and be careful, anything over 1/2 throttle in 1st and 2nd gear and you can't keep the front wheel down. Bike was fun as hell. Only problem was after that ride I got back on the Fizzer 600 and it felt alot slower than it did before . I am going to stay with my 600, has plenty of power for me and I would kill myself on a 1k.

Why not get a slightly used RC51 (RVT?) 1000cc V-twin? Those things are fast as flying greased snot and lots of torque. Plus they sound awesome.

idk why but i sure do love the cbr 1000 rr's but that would be why i voted for it

my pecking order would be (keeping in mind that this is bikes from 04-07 area since the thread starter said he wasn't getting a new ride)

1: GSXR -- great handling and power, lots of squids on them though.
2: R1 -- the best looking bike, no doubt; performance is a 7.5 out of 10
3: CBR -- usually pretty reliable, seat is like riding cardboard, hard to work on yourself/very over engineered
4: ZX10 -- looks great (05/06), sub par handling, unlinear power, not as reliable as the others

that's my .... good luck in getting exactly what you want.
