Brake swap question

Post by tkclow »

Can someone tell me if these will work on my 92 and if they are pretty much straight swap or would I need something else? Also does that seem like a good price for everything. Thanks guys for the input

Its a good deal for the SS lines and new pads that come with. It will be a simple swap too.

Yeah the blues spots are direct swap. Keep in mind the calipers themselves are merely a cosmetic upgrade. The real advantage to that setup is the master cylinder (provides better braking). You could very well use that MC with your stock calipers and get the same effect. I say swap out the whole set if you can get it..they just look nicer. You may want to get new lines though. From what I remember the R6 lines a little short

Looking at that set up as is would there be anything else I would need for the swap or is it basically unbolt old and everything just bolts back on, I can't tell if they are blue dots or not, they look kinda dirty. How much shorter are the lines? Wouldn't the SS lines make up a litlle difference because the front splitter is eliminated? Thanks again

I used the stock R6 lines and they are perfect. No problems yet.

It's just me but that is way to much. I got the same setup for 80 bucks. Not to mention my deal was with someone with much better feedback. Now I may just be picky but I don't care to deal with anyone who has less than a 95% feedback rating. Also for that price you can find a Brembo MC. With just that alone as an upgrade you would have better braking even with the stock lines and calipers. I would pass.

Good point. I change my advice (you can do that right? lol). Pass it up and keep looking.

TK,
+5 on that I paid the equivalent of 60usd for the whole set-up, and dealing with anyone with such a rating could be a problem, unless you have friends in the next county :-}

Thanks for the heads up TK, I did find some other sets for less, I just thought that with the SS lines and new pads it didn't seem too bad. I was not going to use the Buy-it-Now and not much more than the opening bid. Thanks for the advice
