was having a look at the airbox ( as well as the fake ram air ducts )
was thinking has anybody tried running their bike with the snorkel removed - its wouldnt be hard to make up a brace out of either plastic or alloy to
run across the top of the filter to keep it in place.
im guessing you would have to jet the carbies accordingly for the extra air coming in , but it might be a bit less painfull than pod filters ????

Re: airbox snorkle question
It makes it extremely similar to pods... I would suggest a Flo-Commander if you go this route.
I've thought about an adjustable cover, but haven't got around to making one. I wish I simply had a second set of carbs for running pods at the track...

you can just cut the snorkle off, but leave enough material to hold the filter in. If you have a slip on or other exhaust you may have to up to a stage 2 jet kit. I don't think you'll need a flow commander, because all your basically doing is making the regular filter less restricted, it still won't flow as much as pods,

Yup you can cut off the snorkle which will give you induction roar which is quite loud . You will have to tune the carbs as the volume of the air box has changed, coupled with turbulence over the filter since it is no longer a still air induction system. your carbs will need re-jetting for sure
