Need link! Looking 4 Clear Vinyl for Paint Protection.

Post by ragedigital »

You have all seen it on bikes and cars. I'm trying to locate some long lasting clear protective vinyl for areas of my bike.

Got link?

Thanks,

darrin

Yeah, I want to cover a lot of the spots that might get some abuse.

I like the idea of Stomp Grip, but I don't like the look. I'd really like to have a protective layer, then apply Stomp Grip for Track Days, then remove it afterwards, but I doubt that will work...

I found some Avery stuff, but it only last so many years before deteriorating. I want something that will outlive me.

Darrin, I'll have to look around but I bought some to lay over my Maxima's headlights like 8 years ago and it was the schnizl. Come to find out that I had bought the same stuff like 15 years earlier and applied it to my salmon water ski. This stuff is still on my water ski, hasn't shrunk, faded, yellowed or anything. Your new ride looks awesome I can understand why you want a little insurance.

yeah thats 3M clear bra typew stuff

some places to 'custom' installs

I would imagine since they would want 300 or so to do a cars front bumper and part of the hood they could do a bike for about the same price

Ive had the same thoughts

Not sure that these items will work since many tanks have graphics on them that are on top of the painted surface.

Stomp grip on the tank looks sweet and really works well.

Sometimes it looks ok and sometimes it looks like crap. I think on a single colored tank it might look fine, but tanks with graphics - not so good.

Right now I've got a Progrip tank protector on the back of the tank (protect from belt buckle). It may not be the most extensive protection but it looks good. I also throw a sheet of foam rubber toolbox liner under my tank bag to keep it from scratching.

This stuff looks to be a better option since it is removeable and reuseable and has some better reviews.
