have we sorted out the easiest swing arm swap yet?

I'm looking to swap out my rear suspension next so I can run a 180 tire on a 17 inch rim... has anyone got the swap out sorted down to easiest way to do it?

The YZF 600 swap is probably the easiest. Im working on the R6 this weekend. I actually started it yesterday. Check out the thread I have going with lots of pics. Should have it installed today. Back to the garage I go.

i think the yzf is the easiest because i see everyone grinding the shit out of the frame to get any other ones in , only thing i used my cutting wheel for was that rear brake thing a ma jing , i cut a slit between the weld and the lil rubber thing bent it outwards so it doesnt touch the swing arm and grinded the shit outta my rear sets .. other then that everything bolted right up .. and if i want to put the factory swingarm back , no problem .. but i doubt the factory swingarm will ever go back on the bike , unless the buyer wants it back to stock form but i doubt it ..

Now , if i had todo this all over would gone prob r6 swingarm because it looks nicer IMO

The first link I posted is ABS's YZF swingarm but using an R6 wheel and rear brake assembly. The second is an in depth thread with info using a YZF swingarm and wheel. As you can see from PIMPMYFZR 's bike, a 180 tire will fit on the YZF wheel and he's had no issues. Others, including myself, would not advise going bigger than a 170 on that rim though. If you want a 180 tire, get the specs from ABS and go the YZF Swingarm\R6 wheel route.

A lot of grinding on the R6 to get it to fit but in the long run, its a good looking swap. Besides crazyivan, Im the only other one to try the 99-02 R6 swinger. Ill have some updated pics on my build thread tomorrow showing the process. Ivan has a 400 frame and it is different at the pivot bolt area than the 600 frame.

yzf600r swingarm + 99-02 R6 wheel and have some axle spacers made per my specs...everythings a bolt on and if you need to go back for any reason its all reverable...R6 full swap is not reversable so ya got 1 shot to get it done right.

I can vouge for that one. You will need another frame if you screw it up.
