My Race Carbon Bits

Post by China_Racer_1 »

I have these pics in my Hybrid thread, but I figured I would pop them up here in the General area as well for those who do not venture to the Hybrid area

OYA Carbon is a sponsor of mine over here in Shanghai.

I got these parts in yesterday.... and immediately orgasamed.

Man they did me right on these things.

I sent them some one offs that I had fabricate for the race project bike, including a heavily modified TZR solo seat, which will fit on the stock 400 sub-frame with just a small bit of fabricating to get tabs for the mounting holes and something under the ass to support it better.

I have a smaller fuel cell than a stock tank so I filled in the filler hole on the tank cover as well.

The fender will pop on the R-1 Front end on the bike.

Sorry just wanted to show off these works of art.

My wifes comment about them... "Good God don't crash, thsoe are to beautiful to smash up into little pieces."

Mwahahahahaha

Actualy I am smiling now, but these were due me at the begining of the race season. So its been a frustrating 6 months

Ionly have one more race left so I doubt these will see the track until spring unless I can jump through my ass and get my project bike finished in the next few weeks. Even then I have to stuff my 400 engine back in it as UPS farged up my head and a few other parts. UPS SUCKS!

I can try to get an order out of them. They generally ned a minimum but I can see what I can do. They are a sponsor and they can not use these molds for these parts unless its for me so I can always tell them they can make the mold set up fees back if they want to make a small order.

You would be supprised what the actual cost is to make these things.
FYI the fender out of pur carbon I think is about 65 bucks.

But keep in mind they sell carbon parts by the container load. one offs are a waste of thier time. So not alwyas easy for me to get what I want out of them.

Getting these parts was a real battle. I had to literally hlod thier hand in the whole why shoudl I sponsor yo process. whats the benifits etc.... they have no clue of sponsorship in China really.

Now they will be adding pics of me racing on their site and they see the value added in sponsorship. I sent them hundreds of high quality photos.... I paid for the pro photographer myself as well. A bit of give and take.

Ahhhhh yeah..... thats the positive responce I was looking for........

I was going to paint on them a bit as I was planning on a yellow Yamaha Kenny Robert retro bumbble bee look to the bike.

But I think I will just have to change that idea. These look too fine to paint on.

Maybe just a few stickers and call it good. I wil paint on the Fiberglass fairings.

Not sure what I will do now for a color scheme.

He'd never make it through the door alive mwahahahaha.

Carbon parts have been moved and are now secure with Dick Cheynee in a secure underground & undisclosed location.

yeah, i can't say i'm jealous exactly, if i had to wait 6 months for those parts i'd have run out of patience by June.

Good to see they finally got you the custom products though. Maybe you'll get the bike finished by 2010 at this rate.

banghead

... that said, a hearty congratulations is in order, you must feel like it's your birthday, finally!

They look pretty darn good from here. Usually you see a lot of issues when doing carbon fiber, but those look fantastic!

Ah, very nice you.

I am holding strong for 2012.... want to give myself mroe room for Karma to kick my ass on what ever the next issue is that pops up on this build.

Actually the carbon taking so long did not even matter. I still do not have my engine from the USA yet to build the bike I really want.

Thats frustrating.
UPS really a** Fu**ed me on this whole thing, SPYDER as well. NOW I got to get a frigin lawyer involved I guess. EFF U.P.S. !
