Adjusting A/F mixture with IR Gun!!!!
Hey Guys, Well tonight is track time again and I took my IR gun for the hell of it and my temps were:396-478-420-461...That is unaccepatble.....All screws are 2 1/2 out...Do I try to get them at a lower temp or a higher temp...When Im crusing at 60-70, it sounds like im running on 3 cyl...sounds like a dead cyl.....but when I turn the throttle she is all there....What is everyone elses settings??? Thanks guys...Last runs 2 months ago was 8.80 @ 80mph 1/8...Now I have sprokets, K&N Pods, Stage 3-4 Jet kit, Fresh top end, and 5 degree advancer(be here today UPS). Maybe 8.00 in 1/8...

Re: Adjusting A/F mixture with IR Gun!!!!
I would start by checking your compression.
You have oven 80 degree difference in your cylinders.
After that, I would check valve clearance...
And only then, would I mess with the carbs.
Even then... I would totally clean them out first.

NAH, I just did a upper end a month ago, 140 across all cyl, valve lash is correct..I did it, and the carbs dont need cleaning out, ive had them off maybe 100 times tring to get it jetted right......Im gonna try and just get all them closer later today....maybe 420 across all 4

Did you ever adjust your floats?
After I adjusted my floats, my settings were all over the board. The key is not trying to get them to a certain temp, but rather keeping them all at a similar temp.
