HELP!!! Bearing Race removal
How, without destroying, would I get the bottom bearing race off?????
Re: HELP!!! Bearing Race removal
I'm assuming you mean on the steering head? I did my steering head bearings on mine last year, and I had to cut them with a dremel and then used a chisel to break them off, being careful not to damage the steering head surface. Took me better part of an entire morning... it's a pain for sure. Obviously this way destroys them. Park sells a tool that has 4 prongs that expand when you stick it down into the tube, catching the edges of the bearing and then you just drive it out with a hammer. Next time I need to do it, I'm definitely buying the tool.
