what are the size of the float bowl screws?

i don't remember, i took mine to the hardware store and matched them up, and the only thing that would fit was the hex key type.

did you strip the head on a couple like i did?

I didnt strip them. I replaced the carb screws with allen bolts a few weeks ago. I was asking because I needed bolts for the gas cap and I knew the float screws had the same threads.....but I was at work without a sample screw so I took a stab at it and got it right! M5 is the size.

you are lucky none of my local hardware stores have any allen head bolts that would fit my gas tank ring
