starting problem

I went outside this morning to try and start my bike.
but it wont.
all it does when I hit the start button is the starter solinoid makes a bunch of noise. could I need a new battery?

That's not the problem, it's your starter. Take a hammer or something and tap the starter and try again.

I just tried it and it didnt do anything different.
maybe my battery is low

That's the starter solenoid. Remove it and clean all the contacts, and reassemble, then check your battery for voltage.

My solenoid did that when the battery was shot (root cause was a bad VR).

Hook a charger to it, or jump it off....sounds like battery dead....
