Re: Completed my MSF
congrats. if more riders would do this and get their license legally, our insurance rates will be more affordable
i was reading something online from a newspaper in San Francisco recently, about SONS OF ANARCHY tv show, so many people think ALL bikers are worthless human beings. We need to change that perception.
Good job.

good job !!!
.. it's really a good feeling huh
unfortunately i rode my bike 2 seasons before i got my endorsement and a no motorcycle endorsement ticket later , classes were all sold out so i took the advanced class = use your own bike and 1day of class compared to beginner =use their 250cc honda and 2 days .. low and behold i could manuver my bike almost as good as the instructor who was using his goldwing when people where questioning his skill on a bigger bike , people of all walks of life , some hippy dude on a brand new chopper , a 300 lb lady on a big ass harley , half of the people just had gotten their bikes recently , almost all of the riders who were on a big bike couldnt get past the figure 8 turn within a marked space . my skinny as tires made that easy , im wondering if it will still do it with a 180 . i remember my msf class very good because i was the best student in the parking lot but the worst in the classroom ..

Re: Completed my MSF
i didn't take any courses and got my license legally, msf isn't required in my state, is it in others? All you have to do in colorado is pass the written test, then past the driving testYAM93 wrote:congrats. if more riders would do this and get their license legally, our insurance rates will be more affordable

Re: Completed my MSF
I passed the MSF class before I ever got a bike, as far as I'm concerned that's the way to go; especially for folks who aren't sure if riding is their thing. I'm also a big fan of using their bikes. If push comes to shove I'd rather bang up their bike than my bike.
My brother passed his MSF class while he was in town on leave and bought an 05 R6 Raven within a week of getting back to NC.
Edit: Congrats on passing Rose!

Re: Completed my MSF
Congrats.
I agree. I think it should be mandatory for beginners to take some sort of class before they get their license. And have a system in place as to the limit of CC's you can ride per license.
Here in Ontario Canada, all you have to do is pass a written exam(to obtain your M1) and your off to the stealership.
Which means if you got the money you can get the fastest bike out there. Mind insurance may be a little steep.
There is to many people that abuse the rules of the road and give other riders a bad rep!

Re: Completed my MSF
The army requires that you pass the MSF basic rider course to ride a bike, and for good reason. My brother says that a lot of servicemen get hurt or killed on bikes.

i once spoke to a italian who told me that their divorce rate is so LOW because when women want to leave their men they go out a buy him a motorcycle , and he ends up killing him self before the divorce can ever take place .tommyj27 wrote:The army requires that you pass the MSF basic rider course to ride a bike, and for good reason. Re: Completed my MSF
Thanks all for the replies...I'm definitely glad I did it.
I'm sure its possible to learn all that on my own, but I wouldn't want to try.
PIMPMYFZR: it sounds like the experienced course covers about the same material, just on your own bike and in less time...is that right? I was thinking I'd get a couple hundred miles on my FZR and then go back for that course but if its basically the same material at the same speed I may pass..
Also,
